Counterly

One system for your whole counter.

The website, the kiosk, online ordering and loyalty — built and run for local restaurants, bakeries and shops. One place to change a price, every screen already knows.

An example shop, not a live client site. See the whole site we built for it.

Right now it takes four vendors to run one counter.

Your website vendor
Changes the menu on a two-day turnaround, if you remember to email them.
Your POS
Knows the loaf sold out at 11am. Has no way to tell your website.
Your kiosk
A second menu to keep updated, quietly drifting out of sync.
Delivery apps
Own your customers, your margins, and the data about both.

Where does yours stand?

Ten seconds, no signup. We check your site against what a customer looking you up actually needs.

One system, turned on in pieces.

Start with the piece you need now and switch the rest on when you are ready. Nothing gets rebuilt, and nothing waits on a vendor.

Loyalty that follows the customer, not the register. Tap a hole to punch it.
Your checkout, your margins
Pickup and delivery run through your own site. A delivery app takes a cut of every order and keeps the customer; here the order and the customer are yours.
We never hold your money
Checkout hands off to Stripe or Square under your own account. We do not touch card details and we are not in the middle of your payouts.
Your domain stays yours
Registered in your name, not ours. If you ever leave, you keep the address your customers already know.

Start with what you need.

Prices are for one location. More locations or extra hardware change the number — tell us about your shop and we will put an exact one on it, with no contract to find out.

What happens after you write in.

  1. Step 1: Tell us about your shop.

The form at the bottom of this page. We reply with which pieces fit and what they cost. No contract to find that out.

  2. Step 2: Send us what is on your counter.

Menu, prices, hours, photos — in whatever form you have them, a photo of the chalkboard included. We type it in. You check it on a preview link before anyone else sees it.

  3. Step 3: We switch over on a slow day.

Never your first week, never a weekend. Your domain stays registered to you; we point it at the new site when you say so, and the old one stays up until then.

  4. Step 4: Change a price once.

Every screen you have turned on updates together. Add a kiosk or ordering later without rebuilding anything. Leave any time and take your data with you.

Things owners ask before they write in.

Do I have to buy hardware?

No. Kiosk and display screens come with that tier, and the hardware is part of the monthly price rather than a purchase. The website and online ordering need nothing new.

I already have a website and a domain.

Good. The domain stays registered in your name, and your current site stays up until the day we switch. If you have a menu on it, we start from that.

Do you take a cut of orders?

No. Payments run through your own Stripe or Square account and land in your bank. We never hold your money or see card details, and refunds happen in your own processor dashboard.

Who owns my customers and my data?

You do. You can export everything yourself at any time, and if you leave you leave with it. The domain is yours, the customer list is yours, the order history is yours.

What can the menu handle?

Prices, sold-out counts that hide an item at zero, holiday hours that override the usual ones, sizes and extras, a Spanish version of any item, and the top nine allergens with the standard cross-contamination note wherever they show.

Who am I actually dealing with?

One person, in California, who builds and runs it. When you write in, you talk to the person who can fix it, not a queue.

Tell us about your shop.

We will come back to you with which pieces fit and what they cost. No contract to find that out.
